NAMASDEUS: A MOZART-ACCOMPANIED YOGA CLASS AT THE YOGA DOJO (1219 HIGHPOINT AVE.)

Appropriate for beginners, this Community Class will teach proper alignment cues to sustain a growing practice, and is designed as an ideal introduction to the Vinyasa method of linking breath with movement, as motions are cued with an inhalation or exhalation. The perfect way to start Mozart Day!

WOLFIE TIME: MUSIC AND ACTIVITIES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY AT GATHER (2920 W BROAD ST.)

VIEW THE PROGRAM

Crafts and activities begin at 10. Come early to check out the instrument petting zoo, take a Wolfie Selfie, make crafts, and participate in a special community art project! The music begins at 11am with a student recital, and continues with Magic Flute Storytime at 12. Be sure to stay for a parade to King of Pops, led by a marching band from Clover Hill High School!

Chamber music and art song with a grand piano, provided by Rhapsody Piano and Guitar.

THE CLARINET QUINTET AT BLUE BEE CIDER (1320 SUMMIT AVE.)

The glorious Clarinet Quintet, performed in its entirety by Richmond Symphony principal clarinetist, David Lemelin, along with violinists Adrian Pintea and Jeannette Jang, violist Caleb Paxton, and cellist Adam Carter.

2 - 3 PM

WOLFGANG 101 AT CHAIRLIFT (3200 ROCKBRIDGE ST., STE 101)

Maestro Steven Smith shares his insight into why Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was such a rockstar.

2 - 3 PM

THE RICHMOND CELLO ORCHESTRA AT THE VEIL BREWING CO. (1301 ROSENEATH RD.)

VIEW THE PROGRAM

Eighteen cellists, under the direction of Michael Knowles, play arrangements of Mozart's music, including a transcription of the Horn Concerto no. 2, performed by Schuyler Slack.

3 - 4 PM

OPERA SCENES AT GELATI CELESTI (1400 N. BOULEVARD)

Scenes from Mozart’s operas, partially staged with keyboard accompaniment.

3:30 - 4:30 PM

MOZART DANCE PARTY AT TURN CARDIO JAM STUDIO (3105 W. MOORE ST.)

VIEW THE PROGRAM

Watch modern choreography performed to the tune of Rondo alla Turca, then learn what a Mozart dance party would have looked like in a class led by Linda Macdonald, one of the Colonial Dance Club’s dance masters.

4:30 - 6 PM

THE SYMPHONIES AT URBAN FARMHOUSE (3015 NORFOLK ST.)

VIEW THE PROGRAM

A full orchestra, under the baton of Daniel Myssyk, will play movements from Mozart’s symphonies, as well as a piano concerto performed by Maria Yefimova.

7 - 9 PM

MOZART'S GREATEST HITS: ARIAS WITH FULL ORCHESTRAL ACCOMPANIMENT AT STUDIO TWO THREE (3300 W. CLAY ST.)

VIEW THE PROGRAM

Singers, dressed to the nines, will perform arias from Mozart’s operas, accompanied by a full orchestra led by Erin Freeman.

9 - 11 PM

AFTER PARTY AT STUDIO TWO THREE (3300 W. CLAY ST.)

DJ Rattan spins decidedly non-classical records while we toast to the fifth annual Mozart Festival! Libations from The Veil Brewing Co. and Free Run Wines will be available at a cash bar.
