Classical Revolution RVA's 'Pairs' series presents classical music alongside another style altogether. This guitar-centered evening will feature a live performance of Andrew McEvoy’s new album “Parlor Tricks,” and a set of gypsy jazz presented by Django Tango.
"Parlor Tricks" is a solo classical guitar album that shows the influence of folk rhythms on two centuries of Parisienne society music - works by Chopin, Tárrega, Villa-Lobos, and Dyens.
Django Tango is directly inspired by the jazz manouche made famous in France by Romani guitar legend Django Reinhardt.
